Beau Soleil Robotics Team celebrate success at Swiss  2026 Alpine Robo Games

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our VEX Robotics teams at this year’s Swiss Championships in Basel.

Building on last year’s success, Beau Soleil doubled its representation at the national finals, taking four teams to compete against around 30 of the strongest robotics teams from across Switzerland. The competition is a major event in the national STEM calendar, with the winning team going on to represent Switzerland at the VEX World Finals.

This year’s challenge, Push Back, required students to design, build and programme a robot capable of competing in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Success demanded far more than technical knowledge; it required innovation, strategic thinking, collaboration and resilience. Our students rose to the challenge.

Two Beau Soleil teams, Team Syntax Terror and Team Deadline, placed in the top eight overall in the qualifying rounds and progressed through to the knockout stages of the competition. Their performance reflects not only their technical skill, but also months of dedication, testing, redesigning and refining their designs.

While competitive success is always exciting, we are especially proud to celebrate an achievement that reflects the very heart of a Beau Soleil education.

From more than 30 teams, team Deadline was selected to receive the Sportsmanship Award a distinction that recognises integrity, respect and exemplary conduct throughout the competition.

Throughout the two day event, the team consistently demonstrated:

• Kindness and encouragement towards one another
• Respect and support for fellow competitors
• Resilience in the face of setbacks
• A positive attitude, whether winning or troubleshooting
• Integrity in representing Beau Soleil

Their approach left a lasting impression not only on the judges, but also on the other teams from across Switzerland. In a competition that tests technical excellence, it was their character that truly set them apart.

The Sportsmanship Award was presented to  Eliza, Ivayla and Wei Wei, in recognition of the spirit and integrity they displayed throughout the event.

The VEX Robotics Championships are more than a competition, they are an opportunity for students to engage with real-world engineering challenges while developing collaboration, leadership and perseverance.

We are immensely proud of all four teams who represented Beau Soleil in Basel. Their success reflects the strength of our robotics programme and our commitment to preparing students for a future driven by innovation and technology, without ever losing sight of the values that define our community.
